The Beginning:The Vidyalaya was established in the year 1993 at the temporary site in premises of a local and generous educationist late Shri Y D Mane, who made his building available rent free for three years. It was formally inaugurated by the then Union State HRD Minister MS Selja Kumari. Meanwhile the construction work of the semi permanent building began at the site of the Vidyalaya. Gradually the Vidyalaya vacated the old premises and shifted to its own campus as the semi permanent school building and other permanent infrastructure was getting shape.

Infrastructure:The Vidyalaya has got 30 acres land and very well-planned infrastructure except the permanent School building. There are 20 rooms and four big halls. The rooms house the Principal office, school office, computer room, staff room, museum, art room, and music room. Three big halls are used for laboratories and one hall for library. There are four Houses in 2.75 dormitories, each having the capacity of 192 students. In addition to the quarters for housemasters/mistresses, which are attached to the houses, there are 17 staff quarters, one principal’s residence and 12 quarters for the other staff members.
The New School Building:The Vidyalaya has got a semi permanent building with tin sheets and temporary structure. The present school building is insufficient and the students suffer in the rainy season as well as summer season.Impressed by the outstanding performance of the school in every field, one NGO, named ‘Empathy Foundation’, Mumbai has come up with a kind gesture of donating for the construction of a new School building at our site costing about Rs. 3.5 crore. The construction work has been completed and it is ready to use from 2nd October 2011. This is a great achievement in the history of school and it has become a role model for other schools. The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti is very much thankful to the ‘Empathy Foundation’ for its kind gesture and also to the district administration for this initiative.
